I have been to a number of RAM locations, but this was the first.
Overall, they have a nice selection of brews and all are very enjoyable. The food is good, standard pub fare – but in general nothing really drawing me in on a regular basis.
I had an opportunity to tour one location and asked some questions on how they operate as a chain of breweries. While they operate and brew on each premise, each location brews the same standards and can only do a few seasonal/one-off beers, and even those are usually recipes brewed at each location.
I have nothing against chain breweries, they can make some great beer and usually have some good food – but in my experience, they’re restaurants. Their primary business is to be a restaurant that also makes beer – not a brewery that also serves food.
