While not a brewery, and not really a ‘beer bar’. McSorley’s is without a doubt one of the most unique and memorable experiences in my travels.
The bar was established in 1854, has loads of memorabilia on the wall from old New York, and tales of Abraham Lincoln and other notable names in history pulling up a chair for McSorley’s Ale.
They only serve one light cream ale, and a dark lager. Through its history, the beer has been made on-site, by local breweries Fidelio and Rheingold. However now, the famous ale is made by Pabst Brewing and sold in kegs and bottles throughout the eastern US.
